Come Fish Alaska's Stuyahok River
The
Stuyahok
River is a diminutive
clear water stream and like it's neighbor to the East the Koktuli,
the Stuyahok drains the highlands west of
Iliamna lake and
provides important spawning habitat for Chinook, Sockeye, and Coho
salmon.
The
Stuyahok River is relatively short in length but our week long float
trip allows you more then ample opportunity to wade these archetypal
trout waters and fish for resident species which includes a dense
population of 15 to 21 inch Rainbow Trout with specimens to 24",
innumerable Arctic Grayling, and
Dolly Varden. Our Stuyahok River float also allows you to experience
incomparable small water angling for King and Silver salmon when the
runs are in and you get to do so in relative solitude compared to other
rivers in the region.
The
Stuyahok
River corridor makes
for an exceptional Alaska float trip as it has high quality wilderness
values because of views of the nearby uplands and diversity along your
float ranging from
upland tundra at the start of your trip with us to bottomland forest as
we near the confluence with the Mulchatna
River
and our pick up point for this Alaska float trip.
